Wayne Gretzky, unrelated to the famous hockey player, is a vampire struggling with the inability to grow his fangs. This condition started 300 years ago after he accidentally killed Mary Lipinsky, his true love. To distract himself from his sorrow, he takes up a position as a college history professor, a fitting role for someone with his extensive past. In an effort to restore his powers, he seeks assistance from his friend and fellow academic, Dr. Levine (played by Gary Cole). Despite their efforts, nothing seems to work until a new academic term begins, bringing with it freshman Chris Keller, who bears an uncanny resemblance to Mary. Wayne and Chris embark on a passionate affair, sparking rumors across the campus. However, things take a dark turn when Wayne transforms Chris into a vampire, unleashing her uncontrollable thirst for blood and turning the campus gossip into a terrifying reality.
