Ulterior Motive

Once enjoying a content and secure life, wealthy heiress Ye Shuang (Qin Lan) finds her world turned upside down following the sudden vanishing of her husband Ling Feng (Archie Kao) and their daughter. Seeking advice from her father, Ye Cheng (Simon Yam), Shuang decides to involve the police, leading her to cross paths with her former boyfriend, Yao Jie (Gordon Lam). As Jie delves into the investigation, he discovers that this high-stakes kidnapping case is shrouded in mystery. Known for his meticulous attention to detail, Jie begins to suspect Cheng might be involved. Meanwhile, Cheng’s behavior grows increasingly suspicious. Just as the mystery seems to be unraveling, Cheng dies in an accident. At this point, evidence from a murder case two decades old begins to emerge, revealing hidden motives behind the enigmatic kidnappings.
