Ingrid and her siblings are fleeing from the Beserkers, who have started attacking villages, seizing control, and forcing the inhabitants into brutal contests against a Beserker. The prize for winning is survival, but no one ever emerges victorious. After the Beserkers brutally destroyed their hometown, the siblings are desperately trying to evade capture.
