Raised in a financially struggling family, Tae-su comes to believe that power is the ultimate key to life. Aspiring to embody the pinnacle of authority in the 1990s, he sets his sights on becoming a prosecutor. After gaining admission to the country’s most esteemed law school and witnessing Korea’s democratic movements, Tae-su achieves his ambition of becoming a prosecutor. However, he finds his existence no more fulfilling than that of an ordinary office worker. By a stroke of luck, he becomes part of an elite group of influential prosecutors who wield both wealth and power. As he savors the privileges of being at the top, he also becomes aware of its harsh realities.
