The Cure

Dexter, an 11-year-old boy living with AIDS, forms a close friendship with his slightly older and larger neighbor, Eric. As their bond strengthens, Eric finds himself growing more attached to Dexter’s mother than to his own, who is prejudiced and neglectful, and reacts with hostility when she discovers their friendship. Together, Dexter and Eric embark on a quest to locate “The Cure,” a remedy they came across in a local newspaper article.
