Tell Spring Not to Come This Year

Following the withdrawal of NATO forces from Afghanistan, the Afghan National Army (ANA) assumed responsibility for Helmand Province, a perilous area frequently targeted by Taliban assaults. Achieving security, let alone peace, appears elusive in a nation rife with mutual distrust. The filmmakers spent a year with an ANA company stationed on the front lines in Helmand. The soldiers face irregular pay, insufficient supplies, and inadequate equipment, making it challenging to wage war with the gear abandoned by the ISAF.
