Of Kings and Prophets

This sweeping biblical narrative explores themes of faith, ambition, and betrayal through the perspectives of the battle-hardened King Saul, the discontented prophet Samuel, and the clever young shepherd David, all of whom are on a fateful path that will alter the course of history. Set a millennium before the birth of Christ, the story follows Saul, the inaugural king of the Israelites, as he endeavors to unite the 12 tribes and protect his nascent kingdom from brutal enemy assaults. The prophet Samuel delivers a divine command to Saul, instructing him to annihilate one of Israel’s longstanding foes. However, when Saul disobeys, Samuel foretells that God will strip the kingdom from him and appoint another in his stead. Eventually, Saul realizes that his most formidable adversary is not an external enemy, but the shepherd David.
