
A.N.T. Farm
“A.N.T. Farm” is a sitcom from Disney Channel that debuted on May 6, 2011, with a special preview, and then began its regular run on June 17, 2011. The pilot episode, titled “transplANTed,” was broadcast following the series finale of “The Suite Life on Deck.” The show was conceived by Dan Signer, who previously worked as a writer and co-executive producer for “The Suite Life on Deck” and also created the Disney XD series “Mr. Young.” Disney Channel approved the series in mid-November 2010, and production started in early 2011. The first promotional material was unveiled during the premiere of “Lemonade Mouth.”
Set in San Francisco, the series features China Anne McClain, Sierra McCormick, and Jake Short as middle school students enrolled in a special high school program for gifted individuals known as the “Advanced Natural Talent” or “A.N.T.” program.
On November 30, 2011, Disney Channel confirmed that “A.N.T. Farm” would return for a second season, which premiered on June 1, 2012, with two consecutive episodes.
On October 2, 2012, the show was renewed for a third season, which premiered on May 31, 2013, with a one-hour special. However, it was also announced that Carlon Jeffery would not be returning for the third season, and Aedin Mincks would be joining the main cast.
