Marek embarks on his journey as an apprentice aboard a container ship measuring 197 meters in length and 30 meters in width, destined for Martinique in the Caribbean. Filled with excitement, he departs from his family’s farm in Western Pomerania, Germany, and boards the vessel in Saint-Nazaire, Brittany. Marek is in search of freedom and becomes enamored with the mysterious sailor, Jean. Will their connection be a fleeting romance or something more enduring? Is Jean the type to have a romantic interest in every port? During his Atlantic voyage, Marek might not fully transform into a sailor, but he certainly matures.
