Qing mi

It seems that writer-director Carol Lai might have aimed for a Black Swan-like narrative with her story about a stage performer who unintentionally sets off on a self-destructive path while taking on a coveted role. The film, The Second Woman, is perhaps better understood through its Chinese title, Romance Riddle, which suggests a mystery filled with hints rather than a straightforward romantic tale. The plot revolves around twins who fall for the same man, who believes he can juggle relationships with both women, only to find himself in a complicated situation.
