Na-neun wang-i-ro-so-i-da

The film explores the pivotal three months leading up to Choong-nyung’s ascension to the throne, who would later be celebrated as Sejong the Great. This significant period is notably absent from the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty, which chronicles the dynasty’s history from 1413 to 1865. Although Choong-nyung would eventually be revered as King Sejong, the visionary behind the Korean alphabet and a pioneer in scientific and legal advancements, he was initially regarded as a withdrawn scholar. When his elder siblings, Yangnyeong and Hyoryeong, fail to meet the expectations of their father, King Taejong, the king decrees that Choong-nyung should become the next monarch.
