Malady of Love

Two doctors, one seasoned and the other youthful, both find themselves enamored with Juliette, an unpredictable hairdresser. Initially, Juliette is involved with Raoul, the elder physician, but soon finds herself swept away by a fervor for Clément, the younger doctor. Raoul retaliates by exploiting Clément’s feelings of guilt and Juliette’s insecurities. In response, Clément pleads his case to Juliette, breaks off his engagement, and relocates with her to the countryside, where he establishes his medical practice and proposes starting a family. Overwhelmed, Juliette flees from Clément and returns to Raoul. When she is diagnosed with Hodgkin’s disease and the treatment proves ineffective, Raoul suspects that her true ailment is a broken heart. Can it be healed?
