Lost In White
“Lost in White” is set in northeastern China, where two bodies have been discovered beneath the ice of a frozen lake. The remains are unrecognizable due to carnivorous fish, but they still show signs of being dragged with an ice hook. Captain Zhou (played by Tony Leung Ka Fai), a committed police officer, is leading the investigation while accompanied by his teenage daughter, Xinyi (portrayed by Zhou Dongyu). He is soon joined by Wang Hao (Tong Dawei), a young detective from Shanghai, who is pursuing a missing person case that has brought him to the same village where the murders occurred. The investigations reveal a connection: the missing individual and the two victims were part of a group of four businessmen who, a decade ago, established a refinery in the area and unethically disposed of chemical waste, contaminating the waters and causing birth defects in the years that followed. The question remains: is the missing businessman the perpetrator, the next target, or merely a distraction?
