In Nelson, New Zealand, a twelve-year-old named Ben is eager to construct the winning Kiwi Flyer for the upcoming trolley derby. However, his aspirations are crushed when his father tragically dies in a car accident while bringing home the freshly assembled trolley. When arrogant classmate Shannon and his aggressive, car-obsessed older brother Shane, who are determined to keep the trophy at any cost, disrespect Ben’s deceased father, Ben becomes resolute in his decision to participate in the race to honor his father’s memory.
