All Def Comedy

In the 1990s, Russell Simmons was instrumental in launching the careers of many of today’s comedy stars through his HBO series, Russell Simmons’ Def Comedy Jam. Now, he makes a return to the network with All Def Comedy, which was recorded live on September 7 at the Avalon Theatre in Los Angeles. The event is hosted by Tony Rock and features DJ Drama. This uncensored special showcases a range of comedic styles from emerging talents discovered at ADD’s weekly comedy showcase, including Chris Powell, Zainab Johnson, Kevin Tate, and Robert Powell, along with seasoned HBO Def Comedy Jam performer Tony Roberts.
